The heat is about to get turned up on Love Island as the remaining contestants are made to secretly vote which couple they want to see in the dumping line.

All seems to be going well for the 10 islanders on Friday, until Gabby Allen receives a text informing the group of the next big challenge, as the countdown to the big final begins.

The couple with the most votes will be at risk of being evicted next.

The moment will make for an especially tough shock to the system after he and partner Allen are treated to a romantic helicopter ride for their final date.

The pair then get emotional over a picnic as Somerville presents Allen with a jar full of messages detailing why he loves her – including how she smudges him with lipstick when they kiss.

Things are also looking hopeful between Alex Beattie and Montana Brown as they enjoy their own last date: dinner on a sea-borne float.

Beattie confesses he would be willing to move homes to be nearer to Brown, while she later tells viewers that “the ice queen has officially melted”.

But there will be some cheeky challenges among the scenes of true romance, as the girls are tasked with instructing other male islanders, who they are not coupled with, to dive for lost earrings and dish out head massages.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm on Friday.
