Former Great British Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain has delighted television viewers with her new cookery series, receiving compliments on everything from her food to her fashion.

The London-born chef and writer of Bangladeshi origins served up a winning menu of recipes, cooking tips and agriculture lessons as she presented new BBC 2 show, Nadiya’s British Food Adventure.

In Monday night’s debut episode, she whipped up a batch of fresh cheese scones, tried her hand at some asparagus farming and learned about smoking fish from a retired fireman, before showing viewers how to make a mouth-watering Eton Mess cheesecake.

Following her 2016 show, The Chronicles Of Nadiya, the new series marks another success for the 32-year-old mother, whose victory in the 2015 contest launched her professional cooking career.

One viewer commented on Twitter: “Doesn’t Nadiya look like she’s been presenting TV all her life!” while another added; “Nadia you are a marvel, such great recipes.”

One food fan wrote: “I am so on board for Nadiya’s liberal attitude to butter, cheese, cream and sugar, she’s the best…love her,” and another tweeted the star directly: “Loving the show Nadiya, also loving that blue and white stripy shirt, where did you get it from?”

After a flood of viewer compliments, Hussain took to Twitter herself and wrote: “Thank you for all the kind messages! My heart is full.Roll on next week #NadiyasBritishFoodAdventure”

Hussain’s accompanying book, Nadiya’s British Food Adventure, was released on Friday. The show will continue next Monday at 8.30pm on BBC 2.
