Megan Jobling, from Shrewsbury, has been cast the role in the annual pantomime at the Stiwt Theatre in Rhos near Wrexham.

She will be sharing the stage with reality television personality, Jordan Davies, best known for his role as a rep on ITV2's The Magaluf Weekender and its successor Ibiza Weekender, and currently appearing on The Weekender Boat Party on ITV2.

Speaking ahead of the curtain going up next month, the 24-year-old recent drama school graduate said she is excited to be making her stage and pantomime debut this Christmas.

She said: "I'm beyond thrilled to be cast as the role of Jill in Jack and the Beanstalk and really can't wait for the panto season to get started now.

"Since leaving drama school, I've been doing lots of auditioning, so it's brilliant that it's paid off through landing a part in panto.

"I know the pantomime at the Stiwt has built up a really strong reputation and following, so I'm delighted that I'm going to be involved in it.

"I'm looking forward to working with Jordan and the rest of the cast. I know we'll have a great time because that's what panto's all about, it's all about having fun and spreading the Christmas cheer."

Megan, who graduated from the London School of Musical Theatre earlier this year, starred in a number of productions during her time studying, including Silver Sword, Lock up your Daughters, HMS Pinafore and I Love You, Perfect Now Change.

Lee Kelly, producer of the pantomime, said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have cast Megan in the role of Jill in Jack and the Beanstalk. Megan's extremely talented and I know our audiences at the Stiwt will absolutely love her."

Jack and the Beanstalk will be at the Stiwt Theatre from December 8-31, with matinee and evening performances.
