Shawn Melusi said refunds are being made daily and all punters and vendors will get their money back

Fieldbounce Music Festival, launched by Shawn Melusi, was due to take place on May 5 at Park Hall in Oswestry, with headline acts including DJ Danny Howard, Scouting for Girls and Dappy.

However a month before, an announcement was issued by organisers confirming the event had been cancelled due to not being able to meet financial demands because of a lack of ticket sales.

In April ticket sales company Eventbrite gave refunds to people who purchased tickets through their site, but no one else had received refunds.

Now festival CEO Mr Melusi has claimed only a small number of people are left requiring refunds and everyone will get their money back.

He said: “Everyone will get a refund. There is only a small number of people left to refund and it’s just a matter of when.

“There are processes we have to go through, and other parties are involved.

“I can’t confirm when it will be complete but people are getting refunds daily.”

Angry

Food vendor David Spence, who paid £340 to sell food at the festival, welcomed the latest news but said he had not seen any of the money he parted with yet.

“We’re a small business who started up again this year and this is not the ideal thing to happen to us," Mr Spence explained.

“Since it was cancelled we have heard nothing off them, they just seem to have vanished off the face of the earth.

“I get that sometimes things go wrong, with maybe the weather of with planning and things don’t turn up, but to cut communication and not be told anything is appalling and it has made me very angry.

“I would relish a face-to-face meeting with the organisers to talk about what has gone on.”
