Effervescent which began in a school music department in Shropshire is holding a release gig in Albert's Shed, Shrewsbury, on April 29.

The three members are Harriet Rose, 17, from Shrewsbury, Jay Morrison-Little, 17, from Gobowen and Laura Powell ,18, who lives in Ellesmere.

Laura said: "We all met at Lakelands Academy as we were all involved in the music department.

Effervescent started out by busking in Shrewsbury and Chester to raise money for the school music department then continued by playing at local events such as Merefest, which it headlined multiple times.

It has also performed at the O2 Institute in Birmingham.

In 2017/18 the group became part of an artist development programme called MAS Records which has Robert Plant as a patron.

"MAS Records has provided the facilities for us to record as well as giving us advice and insight on the industry to raise us to a more professional standard."

My Mind and I will be released on April 27.

"Our single was written by us apart from the drum and bass guitar parts, written by our producer. With this single we are hoping to raise awareness for mental health as it is something that affects many teenagers. We wanted to contribute to the ever-growing conversation."
