This year’s Market Drayton Transport Festival will take place on August 20.

The event, which is in its third year, will be held at Palethorpes Pork Farms and feature vintage lorries, cars and vans as well as bikes and trucks and more modern vehicles.

Organiser Nathan Shore said: "The show is getting bigger every year."

This year it is hoped that there will be over 300 vehicles at the show.

Mr Shore said: "We have got a few different vehicles this time, there will be steam engines this year which we haven't had before, we've also got the army coming down which is something different.

"We've also got a hearse coming down which has been on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces."

The event will once again be raising funds for Ward 23 for haemotology and oncology at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Mr Shore has been raising money for the ward as it treated his father Wesley before he died.

So far, the show has raised £10,500 for the hospital, which is used to buy new equipment each year.

Mr Shore said: "The first year we bought monitors, last year we bought TVs and DVD players for the isolation rooms.

"This year we haven't decided what we are raising money to buy, but again, we will use the money to buy something that the ward needs, rather than giving a cash donation."

It is hoped that the show will raise over £5,000 this year.

Mr Shore also sent out a message of thanks to the people who help bring the show together.

He said: "There is a team of people behind me and, without them, we wouldn't have been able to make the show what it is today."

He said that this is the last year the show will be held at Palethorpes and, next year, will move onto a field about 200 yards down the road which will allow it to get even bigger still.

He said: "Palethorpes have been really good in supporting us but they are going to be building on the site so we will have to move.

"It will give us a bit more space which we definitely need because we're growing bigger ever year."

Entry to the show will be £5 for adults, £1 for children under 12 and children under five go free.
