Iron Maiden rock Birmingham's Genting Arena - in pictures
Iron Maiden rocked Birmingham last night when they brought their Legacy Of The Beast world tour to the Genting Arena.
The concept for the tour was inspired by Maiden’s mobile game and comic book of the same name, and the stage set design featured a number of 'different but interlocking worlds' with a set list covering a large selection of eighties material with a handful of surprises from later albums to add diversity.
The group were supported by Massachusetts metal band Killswitch Engage at the show.
Formed in 1975, the band have released a whopping 38 albums - including 16 studio albums, 11 live albums, four E.Ps and seven compilations.
After several line-up changes, the band went on to release a series of UK and US platinum and gold albums, including 1982's The Number of the Beast, 1983's Piece of Mind, 1984's Powerslave, 1985's live release Live After Death, 1986's Somewhere in Time and 1988's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
The band have played over 2000 live shows throughout their career, and in 2002 they won the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement.
