Happy Mondays star and Big Brother winner Bez raised the roof of a pub in Shropshire during an event to raise funds for charity.

Happy Mondays star and Big Brother winner Bez raised the roof of a pub in Shropshire during an event to raise funds for charity.

The star was appearing at the Brooklands Hotel, in Mill Road, Shrewsbury, on Saturday night.

About 200 people attended the show, which landlord Ben Pruden said had created a great atmosphere.

The event helped to raise money for Hope House Children's Hospice.

There was also various events throughout the day and about 600 people took part in a number of activities.

Mr Pruden said: "Bez tried to raise the roof off the pub.

"It was a very eventful night and it is no wonder he won Big Brother.

"It was a busy night. We had 15 staff on and it was still not enough. It was manic.

"It was a good night and a good atmosphere. We managed to pull off a remarkable night.

"It is nice to put on such an event in a pub that is not in the town centre."

Events during the day were due to include a fairground and a bouncy castle but these had to be cancelled because of the poor weather.
