Business partners Jake Hevingham, 30, and Sunny Patel, 56, had registered the business from Jake's home in Madeley before quickly outgrowing their initial base.

Following a £50,000 investment, the duo opened the Gourmet Breakfast & Food Co on Queen Street earlier this week, creating nine immediate jobs with the prospect of recruiting up to 25 employees in the future.

Jake, who has a background in organising festivals, said: "When all the festivals got cancelled my partner pushed me to do something different.

"I used to be a chef and we then started this idea from my kitchen at home and it boomed from there.

"We've lived here all our lives and there aren't too many options for breakfast, so the minute we announced it we had two drivers delivering for us.

"We then saw the opportunity to move into The Venue, which we're fully renovating at the moment."

Jake said the business has got off to an "amazing" start, with plans to spend about £100,000 in total renovating the premises and opening a 50-seater restaurant.

"The weather's been really good to us and we're full of people eating which is amazing to see," he said.

"The Venue used to be a place focussed on drinking so we're really changing the atmosphere and building a family-friendly clientèle.

"The support we've had so far has been incredible."

The premises, which has an open plan kitchen, is open seven days a week from 7am to 5pm, closing at 9pm on Sundays.
