There are breweries from north to south, east to west, with Salopian near Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Hobsons down south, Rowton in Wellington, Joule's in Market Drayton, and Stonehouse near Oswestry.

Ludlow Brewery's ales are found all over the county but to get the taste of how they are meant to be, you must pay a visit to the brewery in Station Road. The Tap & Can, next to the railway station in Shrewsbury. An ever-changing list of beers on cask and draught, with additional craft ciders, and lagers too.
You will not find Shropshire beers in the Tap & Can, which can get very busy at times, because they pride themselves on bringing in the very best from across the country.
The alcohol can be a tad stronger than in other venues and prices are a bit higher, but that's what you have to pay for quality.
In a similar vein is the Crafty Dragon in Mill Street, Whitchurch.
