The 47-year-old star is best known for his roles in This Is England, Snatch, and Line of Duty.

Graham was spotted just days ago on the Merseyside filming set for the Birmingham-based gangster series.

But it was today officially announced by the Peaky Blinders Twitter account that he would be appearing in the show's upcoming series - to which Stephen Graham replied 'thanks for having me'.

Show creator Steven Knight confirmed back in 2019 that Graham was being lined up for a role in the Brummie drama, although not as Al Capone as had been rumoured based off his role in Boardwalk Empire.

Graham could yet be spotted in the Black Country, with much previous Peaky Blinders filming taking place at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley.

He has previously played characters who are Cockney, Welsh, Geordie, Scouse, Irish, Scottish, American and more - but it remains to be seen what role he will adopt when appearing alongside the Shelby family.

Steven Knight had previously said there had been delays filming the sixth series due to the coronavirus pandemic.
