St David's Day 2018: Where to celebrate across Shropshire and the Midlands

The annual event, that takes place on March 1, celebrates the Welsh patron saint with a variety of events across Wales, and further afield.

March 1 - St David's Day Special - Brewhouse and Kitchen, Lichfield

Lichfield's Brewhouse and Kitchen are set to his a St David's Day special.

The eatery sells a range of different hot and cold food, as well as beer and brewery masterclasses.

The event takes place from 12pm until 11pm.

March 1 - St David's Day Pub Quiz - The Wheatsheaf Hotel, Wolverhampton

The Wheatsheaf Hotel is set to host a very special pub quiz on March 1.

The child-friendly quiz will cover all things St David's Day, and will take place from 8pm until 11pm.

March 1 - St David's Day Supper - Lion and Pheasant Hotel, Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury's Lion and Pheasant Hotel are gearing up to host their very own St David's Day Supper.

The supper boasts a range of special Welsh dishes - such as leek and potato soup, welsh rarebit, lamb shoulder, and nain's rice pudding.

March 1 - St David's Day Celebration - Hagley Place Care Home, Ludlow

In celebration of St David's Day, Hagley Place Care Home has a day full of entertainment in place.

Vocalist Rachel Hyde will be performing live music from various Welsh stars, such as Tom Jones.

A wide range of traditional Welsh snacks will be on offer also.

March 1 - St David's Day - Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre - Wrexham

St David's Day celebrations will be in full swing at Wrexham's Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre.

The centre's Boots store will also be hosting a 'guess how many sweets are in the jar' raffle, children's colouring competition, and Double Points on any spend for one day only.

You can also look out for the daffodil cart on the day, that will be giving out complimentary blooms.

All events in store will be in aid of Children in Need.

March 1 - St David's Day - The Monty Club, Newtown, Powys

Celebrate St David's Day with live music, dance and heaps of fun at The Monty Club.

From 11am until 1pm, revellers can enjoy music from Glanhafren and Bear Lanes.

at 1pm there will be a parade, followed by entertainment until 5pm.

Enjoy an evening of food and live entertainment with Bridgnorth RFC.

The Bridge Street venue will fill attendees with a three course meal and cheese board, followed by live entertainment and traditional welsh music.

There will be daffodils and leeks aplenty at Erddig, just in time to celebrate St David's Day.
