The Damned wow crowds in Birmingham - in photos

Last night punk legends The Damned wowed fans at Birmingham's O2 Academy 2.

The show was part of their headline UK tour in support of their upcoming eleventh studio album Evil Spirits.

Evil Spirits is set to be released on April 13 featuring single Standing On The Edge Of Tomorrow.

Read more: More than 40 years since their arrival on the the fledgling London punk scene, and some 10 years since the release of their last studio recording, British punk legends The Damned are set to return with both new material and a UK tour.

The band's line-up for the show consisted of original members Dave Vanian and Captain Sensible, joined by long-serving members Monty Oxymoron, Pinch and Paul Gray.

The Damned have enjoyed more than 40 years as a band, and are well known for being one of the first gothic rock bands and a major influence on the goth subculture with lead singer Dave Vanian's vampire themed costume and dark lyrics.
