Mr Selfridge star Hannah Tointon, Coronation Street's Christopher Harper, Call The Midwife's Jack Ashton and Emmerdale's John Middleton are set to star in the show that tells the tale of two men in the dining carriage of a train crossing America, both harbouring dark secrets that are set to change their lives.

The thriller is based on the psychological drama by Patricia Highsmith, who also wrote The Talented Mr Ripley and Carol.

The tale was immortalised by Alfred Hitchcock's Academy Award-winning film starring Farley Granger, Ruth Roman, Robert Walker and Patricia Hitchcock.
