Drought on Mars, a local Bridgnorth band, are kicking off the High Street stage on August 27 and also launching their first album soon

There will be more than 70 different performances and events at the 11th annual festival which takes place from August 18 to 28.

The events will take place at a number of venues in the town including, pubs, bars, Bridgnorth Library and St Leonard's Church.

Nigel Gill, rock stage organiser, said: "The whole town gets behind it, it's getting bigger each year.

"I like to think the bands are getting bigger and better, we're trying to get national level bands and we can only pay them expenses.

"We also offer camping now to get people into the town, they can stop for the weekend events and go into the town to eat and drink.

"The venues in the town support us by having acts perform and we support them by bringing people into the town.

"It's not just music that is on offer we have arts too over the festival, and we raise money for charities, this year it is Shelter and Bridgnorth Food Bank."

High Street stage organiser Westley Bone said: "On August 27 Bridgnorth Festival High Street stage is bringing you an eclectic mix of awesome musicians from rap to rockabilly, quirky to country.

"These bands are stars of the future so don't miss this opportunity to see them up close and personal, and did we mention it's all free.”

Quayside stage organiser Jen Bone said: "Come on down and celebrate the last day of this year's Bridgnorth Festival with the chilled out atmosphere and dulcet tones of our Quayside stage.

"Join us from 12pm for a mixed afternoon of drum workshops, acoustic performances and talented songwriters. Bring the family down and enjoy the beautiful Bridgnorth riverside, superb ice cream and maybe a nice cold beverage.

"In addition, once the sun has set and the music has come to an end, don't go anywhere. Bridgnorth Outdoor Films are back and we will be screening a very special feature from 7.30pm."
