Emily has become a firm favourite at sporting events earning a reputation as Wembley’s favourite anthem singer and performing the National Anthem at this year’s FA Cup Final.

“Silverstone was amazing. I have performed there before but the British Grand Prix is an event on a global scale,” said Emily. “Singing the National Anthem is fabulous and leads perfectly into the Proms season.

“I’m very much looking forward to Proms and Prosecco in the Park where I will be singing favourites, including Somewhere Over the Rainbow and I Could Have Danced All Night, before the anthems such as World in Union and Jerusalem and then Land of Hope and Glory.”

It is the traditional conclusion to a Prom and Emily said: “It is always a thrill to sing, it builds and builds until the chord change when everyone joins in – it is just spine tingling.”

Anticipation is building for Proms and Prosecco in the Park at Chetwynd Deer Park on September 9.

“Who doesn’t enjoy a glass of Prosecco in the park?,” said Emily. “I haven’t been to the Newport area but people keep telling me it is beautiful and you must visit this place and that place.”

Operatic tenor Jack Foley is among the performers and Emily revealed that the audience could expect her to join him in a duet.

Locally-based Fizz Festivals Ltd have brought together a mix of musicians and classical singers for Proms and Prosecco in the Park.

Foley has performed with The Royal Opera, Covent Garden Carl Rosa Opera Company and Grange Park Opera as well as starring in musicals across Britain and internationally.

Also taking to the stage will be up and coming singing star Alexandra Jayne, from nearby Wheaton Aston. Alexandra was recently chosen to support James Blunt at a Birmingham concert and won praise from the pop star for her “really beautiful and easily identifiable” voice.

Gates will open at 2pm and the live music will start at 4pm and finish at 9pm.
