Chester Bennington memorial to be held in Birmingham

One More Light encourages fans to meet, pay respects, share stories and grieve together at the site of the vocalist's last show Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena.

The memorial is set to take place on Saturday, July 29.

41 year old Chester Bennington was found dead at 9.00am on July 20 in a suspected suicide, the Los Angeles County coroner has said.

Talking of the event on a Facebook page, organisers say that: "After the devastating loss of Chester, it's important for everyone to come together and be there for one another.

"This event is an opportunity for fans to come together to meet and be there for one another, while also celebrating the life of a man who meant so much to us.

"We are going to show everyone what a real family LP [Linkin Park] fans are and we are going to be there for each other and support one another through this and as Chester said himself at the Birmingham show 'Celebrate music, Celebrate life'."

Those taking part in the memorial will meet by the Bull statue outside of the Bullring Shopping Centre at 2.30pm to greet those that travel by train, and then move to Central Square in Brindleyplace to meet all others.

Gathering at the Barclaycard Arena will begin between 4.30pm and 5.00pm with flowers and memorials to be left at Entrance E of the venue.

At around 6.00pm, white balloons will be released in Central Square to close the event. Organisers have said they will be present throughout the evening to accommodate those who arrive late.
