Plans are being finalised for the family orientated Chorley Show which is taking place on August 19 from 12noon.

The show will include the fun dog show featuring 14 classes including cutest puppy, best gundog, best rescue and the coveted best in show.

This year's show will also feature a gun dog scurry to allow the working dogs to show off their abilities.

Dog show organiser Kathryn Holloway said: “The whole village community has got together to stage this traditional event with fun for all the family, including the dog and duck show, craft displays, all the usual sideshows and of course, the dog show.

“Many charities and local good causes have benefitted from money raised by the shows over the years and this year we have chosen to support Rupert’s Revenge.

"The show brings together both old and new villagers who team up to organise the event, we hope to make this show a huge success and a fantastic community occasion raising lots of money for a great cause.”

Judges for the dog show will be vets from Severn Edge Veterinary Group in Bridgnorth and prizes are being donated by Amy Stewart, owner of Happy Tails Dog Spa in Bridgnorth.

Amy said: “We have been involved with Chorley Show in previous years and I am delighted to provide prizes for the winners of this ever-popular dog show and we are looking forward to supporting what will surely be a really enjoyable family day.”

Other attractions include local bands, craft stalls, beer tent, BBQ and home made refreshments.
