Singing for your supper

A fundraising concert to help with a project to help a village become dementia friendly will be held next month.

Singing for the audience's supper will be the popular Guilsfield Singers at the event at the community centre in the village on July 8 at 7pm.

In contrast with their last concert of serious music by Schubert and Stainer, the next event hosted by the Guilsfield Singers will be a light-hearted offering including traditional and show songs.

With the theme Sea, lakes and all sorts As well as songs from the choir on watery subjects, such as The Mermaid, Deep River and Over the sea to Skye, there will be solos from Bill Rowell and Gerry Howe.

A buffet supper will be served in the interval and a bar will be available.

Tickets, £12, are available from 01938 555249 or 01938 554047, or buy tickets from Welshpool Jewellers.

At the concert the choir will be raising funds for the project initiated by the vicar, Caroline Rhodes, to make Guilsfield a Dementia-friendly village.
