Museums at Night happens twice a year where museums across the country are encouraged to throw open their doors to showcase their exhibits in unusual ways.

Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery will take part between 4pm and 9pm on April 17 for a programme of art, live music and family friendly events.

Visitors will be able to enter the clock room and become part of its mechanism as internationally renowned media artist, Andy McKeown turns the museum’s special exhibition gallery into a stunning, immersive light and sound show.

Refreshments and live music will also be available at the museum’s STOP Café

Fay Bailey, learning and communications manager at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, said: “We are very excited to be hosting our first Museums at Night event on Wednesday, May 17.

"The museum will be buzzing with activity and we look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages.”

The event costs as little as £10 with a family offer. Visit http://www.shrewsburymuseum.org.uk/news-blog/ for more information.
