Electro-swing ball celebrations

As part of the 90th birthday celebrations taking place this year, Derwen College at Gobowen is hosting a 1920s Charity Ball at the college grounds on May 13.

The evening promises to be a night of vintage magic hosted by the Electro-Swing Ball.

Doors open at 7pm and party goers will be welcomed by the Glitter Kittens entertaining on stilts during welcome drinks and canapés.

Compere for the evening is the Liberty Pink who will charm, tease and dazzle with her wit and singing voice.

Students will kick off the evening at 7.30pm with a specially prepared performance to showcase the 1920s theme. This will be followed by Jazz Jive Swing's fun style of dance class.

Live music is from DJR and local band Hot Jazz Biscuits and there will be burlesque and circus performers.

There will also be food platters served and a cocktail bar.

Dress code is optional 1920s high glamour, swing and flapper, feather boas, red lipstick, high heels and faux fur.
