Paintings by the star, who is best known for his appearance's on TV Burp and You've Been Framed, have gone on show at Ellesmere College as part of the annual Ellesmere Art Exhibition.

The exhibition was launched on Wednesday and people have until Sunday to catch a glimpse of Hill's work.

The TV presenter, who has been painting for the past 20 years, recently revealed that he has amassed so many paintings that it was "quite nice to get them out of the house".

His works are from an on-going series depicting a parallel universe where nature, celebrity and surrealism collide.

There is a horse on a surfboard, Bruce Forsyth, Brit pop coconuts, a portrait of Cheryl Cole and a memorial to Honey the guinea pig.

The presenter said he received great support in developing his artistic side from his wife, who he described as a "proper painter".

It is the fifth year that the college has hosted the National Art Exhibition and sale of works, which annually attracts 80 professional artists exhibiting more than 300 pieces of work.

Last year's event recorded its highest number of visitors, when 1,000 people came to see the art and sculptures on display.

Nick Pettingale, director of external relations at the college, said: "Our goal is to see the artistic talent, both local and national, celebrated and given a higher profile in the region.

"This isn't a display of our students work, great though that is, but rather that of professional artists and sculptors."

The exhibition will run from from 11am to 9pm today and tomorrow, and from 11am to 2pm on Sunday.
