The Strictly Come Dancing star will turn on the lights at Telford Shopping Centre on November 19.

The Mysterious Girl singer and reality television star will be the guest of honour at the annual free event, which will also coincide with the opening of Santa's Grotto at the centre.

There will also be entertainment from 6pm until 8pm at Southwater.

Tracy Hadley, marketing and events manager at Telford Shopping Centre, said: "The Christmas lights switch-on always pulls in the crowds. However this year's event is set to be bigger and better than ever, andWe are all very excited that Peter Andre will be here in Telford to get the Christmas festivities off to a fantastic start.

"We are sure Peter is going to be a hit with people young and old and the countdown is now on to his arrival.

"There will be more information to follow as further plans are confirmed for the official start to Christmas at Telford Shopping Centre."

The 42-year-old was meant to perform at Telford International Centre in 2013, but the show was cancelled due to outstanding contractual issues with the promoter and venue.

More than 1,000 fans, who spent between £18 and £25 on tickets for the concert, were left devastated by the news.

The concert would have seen the Insania singer supported by former X-Factor and Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side star Rylan Clark.

However the father-of-three will be at the centre next month to turn on the lights before heading back to the training room ready for the weekend's Strictly show, that is if he is still in the competition.

More details about the event will be released in the coming weeks.

Andre is famous for his Reality TV show Peter Andre: My Life and for starring in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here in 2004.
