The Shrewsbury Cartoon Festival, which takes place in the spring, will be bringing the art of illustration to the masses.

There will also be a themed cartoon exhibition which will run from mid-April to mid-May.

And in April, more than 20 cartoonists will take over the town's Square for a day.

Cartoonists, some whose work regularly appears in the national press, will be creating their funny works of art on canvases at least eight foot high.

This year's exhibitions will be showcased in the Bear Steps Gallery and also in the town's Chapel Bar Theatre Severn.
