After outgrowing its current building on Shropshire Street, The Will Associates call centre is set to take on the vacant Trade Secret shop on Cheshire Street and could be bringing up to 50 jobs with it.

Currently operating in Poynton House, the company is going through the process of purchasing the vacant building and bosses say they hope to have it within the next six weeks.

Paul Evans, call centre manager, said: "We have been growing and need somewhere else to expand now – it is a big move but we've run out of space.

"We're really excited and think that it will be great news for the town. It will be 90 jobs in total and it will make us the third biggest employer in Market Drayton."

The company had about 10 employees working in the call centre during March this year, and now has at least 40 as they work through the summer. But with the ambition to continue growing, it hopes to take on an initial 30 workers in the call centre, as well as further peripheral roles and also positions in the legal team.

Mr Evans said: "We'll be keeping some of our legal teams and other bits in Poynton House, but we'll be taking on a lot of roles in the call centre once we move to Trade Secret."

Council leaders have said they fully support the company's expansion. Mayor of Market Drayton, Tim Beckett, said: "It's great news. It would be a great morale boost to the town as hopefully a lot of these people will shop in the town.

"The more prosperous the town is then the more there is a likelihood that other businesses will move here."

The company is asking anyone with different skills, from telephone to legal, to apply for jobs.
