Ewan Dowes, Cameron Phelps and Danny Washbrook have all confirmed they are leaving Hull after the club’s play-off defeat to Leeds on Sunday night.

The trio are all heading out of the KC Stadium after failing to secure new deals, with Dowes ending a nine-year stint, academy graduate Washbrook a six-year one and Phelps a brief six-month stay.

Dowes, who joined the Black and Whites from Leeds in 2003, made over 200 appearances for the club and won the Challenge Cup with them in 2005. He also played in the 2006 Grand Final and the 2008 Cup final.

“That was officially my last game for Hull fc last night,” the 30-year-old wrote on his Twitter account.

“It’s been an awesome nine years, gutted to be leaving. Gonna miss the lads and fans.”

Dowes is expected to follow outgoing coach Richard Agar to Wakefield, as is Washbrook, who burst into the side in 2006 but has had to settle for being a squad player since.

“Disappointing end to my days as a Hull FC player,” he also wrote on Twitter after his side’s 42-10 defeat at Headingley.

Phelps joined the club as a replacement for Jordan Tansey following the full-back’s early-season sacking.

“Thanks for the year found out Wednesday via letter that I wasn’t to be re-signed. Enjoyed hull. Wish I could stay,” he said on the social networking site.

Phelps, who was a part of the Wigan squad that won the Super League title last season, is now Federation trained and if he stays in Super League will do so as a non-quota player.
