Jez Moxey hails Stale Solbakken talks as Wolves plan

Jez Moxey today hailed the positive progress from a day of detailed talks with new boss Stale Solbakken at the start of his whistle-stop trip to Molineux.

The 44-year-old Norwegian manager, still a figure of Scandinavian mystery to the Molineux fans, will continue his meetings with key personnel before returning home tonight.

But Solbakken met with all of the club’s football staff yesterday to add details to his pre-season plans as Wolves look to put a wretched year behind them.

“It was a very positive meeting,” said Molineux chief executive Moxey today. “We ran through the issues effecting the club and Stale met with the football staff.

“It was a very useful day. He is a very impressive guy – that’s why we we appointed him.”

Solbakken, deposed interim manager Terry Connor and other key members of staff extended their discussions at a social gathering over dinner last night – but an important sub-text is known to be running through these first get-togethers between the new boss and the men left behind by ex-boss Mick McCarthy.

How much common ground they can find will be a key factor in the shape of the club’s backroom staff.

Wolves are aware that McCarthy is likely to be snapped up by another club during the summer – and in that event can be expected to come calling for his trusted lieutenants.

At the same time Stolbakken’s appointment came with the clear hint from Moxey the addition of a Director of Football, to take charge of scouting and staff recruitment, was now under consideration by the Molineux hierarchy.

Don't think TC will be missed some how....

TC was always going to go after Mick found a new club once the season was over. Had Mick found a club first then he would have waited until our season was over to offer TC an appointment as assistant. Wherever Mick goes TC will follow.
