Mick McCarthy to make most of Wolves luck
Thursday 17th November 2011, 10:37AM GMT.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today urged his players to ‘seize the day’ and make the most of their luck against Everton.
Saturday’s opponents have lost six of the last seven, although they have played Chelsea twice, both Manchester clubs, Liverpool and surprise packet Newcastle .
The match at Goodison will be played against a backdrop of dissent on the blue half of Merseyside, with Everton supporters set to stage a second protest march against the board before the game.
The Blue Union fans’ group are angry at the sale of key players such as Mikel Arteta to Arsenal, and lack of funds for manager David Moyes.
McCarthy is concentrating on matters on the pitch, and believes teams get lucky at certain points of the season.
He reckons Wolves could be in such a spell now after ending their run of one point in seven games with that welcome 3-1 victory against Wigan before the international break.
“I just think there are times in a season when you hit form and it works out for you,” said the boss.
