Jez Moxey has broken the boardroom silence on Molineux’s anti-Mick McCarthy lobby to issue a “business as usual” edict.

Wolves’ chief executive used his column in the club’s match-day programme for the Carling Cup tie against Manchester City to align himself squarely alongside a manager who has felt the wrath of fans angered by the team’s seven-game slump without a Premier League win.

A 5-2 home defeat by Manchester City hardly gave McCarthy, whose own programme notes continued his uncompromising rejection of the critics he labelled ‘mindless idiots’ before the game, fresh ammunition to fire back.

But the scoreline against the hottest team in the Premier League disguised an improved performance from Wolves which earned the appreciation of a Molineux crowd who were in no mood to repeat Saturday’s bitter outbreak of venom against the manager.

Obviously Wolves will take a beating on Saturday against Man City, the next important game against Wigan the week after, will decide whether McCarthy stays or not.
Moxey’s record for appointing managers is second to none !!!
And still he sits there with his big cheesy grin, fireproof, Why?
