Don’t panic! McCarthy tells Wolves

Under-fire Mick McCarthy today vowed not to panic and insisted he was “under no more pressure” after Wolves’ Black Country crash.
Yesterday’s 2-0 reverse to Albion was their fifth successive loss and left Wolves in their worst top-flight run since they lost six in spring 1984 and were relegated soon afterwards.
The current run equals their five-match losing sequence of November 1991, and is the longest since Tommy Docherty’s Second Division side lost seven on the bounce from November 1984 to January 1985.
The latest setback triggered a storm of calls for McCarthy’s head on messageboards and Twitter, and the Molineux chief admitted Wolves must hit back for Saturday lunch-time’s home clash against Swansea.
But the 52-year-old, who has been in charge of Wolves for over five years, insists he can turn things around, just as he has before.
