The new Stan Cullis stand will extend into the north east corner

Piece by piece, the roof of Molineux’s new £16 million Stan Cullis stand was today taking shape.

Steel girders are in place ready for the new roof to be lowered into place, which Wolves bosses say will be complete by November.

It means 4,000 fans located in the completed lower-tier of the new stand, who are currently exposed to the elements, will be under cover in time for Wolves’ home fixture against Sunderland on December 3.

The stand dwarfs the Steve Bull stand which will be the next to be pulled down and rebuilt in owner Steve Morgan’s £40million overhaul.
