Wolves confident their top players are staying
Wednesday 1st June 2011, 3:49PM BST.
Wolves are confident Premier League survival has put to bed any doubts about their top players being cherry-picked this summer.
Chief executive Jez Moxey today insisted that the only departures from Molineux this close season would be governed by “football reasons alone.”
And manager Mick McCarthy believes only an unlikely offer from one of the elite clubs in the country would de-stabilise leading players such as Matt Jarvis and Kevin Doyle.
“No-one can come and knock on my door and say ‘Gaffer, I need Premier League football’ – because they are going to get that with Wolves,” said McCarthy.
“If they had come and said that and we were down they would have had a case. Fletcher, Doyle, an England winger in Jarvis – they would have been fully entitled and a few more would have been the same. I accept that.
“But not now. I have to be pragmatic about this. If Arsenal, Manchester City or Manchester United make a move for our players and I say to them ‘you’re not going’ the reality is that they would resent me for the rest of their lives and not play for me. That’s the reality and people have to be grown up about it.”

We’re the only club without debt. If we manages to hold on to our best players we should manage to get on level with clubs like A.Villa that has no continuity.
Cheers to Wolves, the one and only well administered club in premier league.
