Mick McCarthy confident of Jamie O’Hara transfer
Thursday 26th May 2011, 3:50PM BST.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy today confirmed that he expects the deal to clinch Jamie O’Hara’s permanent signing will be completed.
O’Hara was loaned from Tottenham in January on the understanding a full transfer would be completed in the event of Wolves winning their survival fight.
And with both player and club delighted with events since his arrival, the Wolves boss anticipates no problems in getting the go-ahead for his first outlay of the summer, believed to be in the region of £5m.
“We’ve got a deal to do and I want to sign him,” says McCarthy. “Jamie wants to stay and we will be doing it.
“I think he has shown his quality since he has been here. He was really good at the start, and then maybe had a bit of a dip for about five games after Villa, along with everyone else mind you,
“But that was understandable as he’d been out for six months after having a back operation.
“He’s been back at it in the last few games and I thought he was outstanding on Sunday.
“He maybe didn’t get the ball in the first half but did really well in the second half and was also terrific against West Brom and Sunderland.
“He has added real quality to us. He’s a real Premier League player and that is what we are trying to get in again this year.”
O’Hara’s performances have endeared himself to the Molineux faithful not least because of his first Black Country derby goal at The Hawthorns, voted the club’s Goal of the Season by supporters at last week’s end-of-season awards night.
And he has been full inducted into life at Molineux declaring: “I’m loving every moment playing for Wolves and I didn’t realise how much of a big club this is until I came here.
“It’s run fantastically well, the chairman is brilliant and the gaffer is absolutely amazing.”

o’hara would be an asset to any premier team, but wolves need to get rid of some of the so called 1st choice players, there are several players in the last team who are not premier quality, and never will be,
The only problem wolves will have is getting moxley to loose the money, The more he keeps the more HE gets,
Don’t want to go through another season like the last two
