Kevin Foley sets Wolves a survival target

Fit-again Kevin Foley today set Wolves a survival target of six Barclays Premier League wins to stay up.
Foley returned to the squad for tonight’s game at Bolton after an ankle injury that has kept him out of the last five games.
And the 26-year-old utility man believes Mick McCarthy’s side need ‘six of the best’ from their 15 ‘cup finals’ to see them safe.
“We’ve got 15 cup finals,” said Foley. “We’ve got to treat every game like that and if we win six that would take us close to that 40-point mark, which is usually enough.”
But Foley admitted he’s not convinced that will be enough because there are so many teams involved in the battle to stay up.
“I wonder this year whether teams might need more points than ever to survive,” he said.
“There are so many teams bunched up down there and so many have taken points off the top sides this season. That’s why we have to get as many as we can.”
Wolves have never won in the league at the Reebok since it opened in 1997, and, with a record of just four points from 33 on their travels this season, Foley knows it’s going to be difficult.
“It’s a tough place to go tonight and we need to start the game well.
“Bolton haven’t had the best of times recently and we need to capitalise on that. But they’re still a good team with quality players and it will be difficult.”
l Wolves today unveiled a ‘new signing’ after including Michael Kightly in their revised 25-man squad for the rest of the season.
Kightly insists he will play first-team football this season after finally recovering from inflammation in his patella tendons.
Coming in to Wolves’ 25 were new signings Adam Hammill, Jamie O’Hara and Adriano Basso, plus Kightly.
