Henry and Craddock to return for Wolves v Doncaster
Tuesday 18th January 2011, 1:06PM GMT.
Wolves skipper Karl Henry and central defender Jody Craddock will return to the starting line-up after lengthy injury lay-offs for the FA Cup fourth round replay with Doncaster at Molineux tonight.
Midfielder Henry made his comeback after a two-month lay-off with a knee injury as a substitute in the 4-3 loss at Man City on Saturday.
Craddock has been sidelined with a hip problem since mid-October.
Midfielder David Edwards is still unavailable with a hamstring injury and full-back George Elokobi serves the second game of a three-match ban.
Boss Mick McCarthy accepts staying in the Premier League is the priority, but wants to remain in the Cup and build on Wolves’ recent revival in terms of performances and results.
He stressed: “We want to win. We all know getting into and staying in the Premier is worth so much money to the clubs that it has diluted the FA Cup.
“There is no question about that but it is a game of football and I’d love to still be in the FA Cup on Wednesday morning. I’m not giving that up lightly.
“In the early rounds, people want to protect a few players and are mindful of big games coming up.
“Later on, it gets a bit more important because it is still the best knockout trophy without any shadow of a doubt.”
But he will make some changes to the team.
“Henry and Craddock will play and there are one or two feeling the strain after the recent games. We have to play at full tilt so one or two need a breather before we face Liverpool on Saturday,” added McCarthy.
