Craddock and Henry back with Wolves

Wolves were today preparing to unveil two new ‘signings’ as Jody Craddock and Karl Henry made their comebacks.

The two captains were due to play in a specially-arranged behind-closed-doors friendly against Sven Goran-Eriksson’s Leicester at Compton this afternoon.

Forgotten striker Sam Vokes, whose loan at Bristol City was wrecked by a twice-torn hamstring, also had a chance of playing.

Both Craddock and Henry have had a week’s full training under their belts, and, providing they come through today’s game unscathed, both could be involved in Saturday’s clash at Manchester City.

Craddock has missed the last 15 games with a thigh problem that eventually required an injection on December 12 to break up scar tissue, after he broke down early on in the 1-1 draw against West Ham on October 16.

Henry has been out for the last eight matches after sustaining a slight tear of his medial ligaments in the 2-1 defeat at Blackpool on November 20.

Wolves have won four and drawn one of the games Henry has been out for, but team-mate Nenad Milijas said the absentees have been missed.

“It’s not just Jody and Karl we’ve missed a lot of players over a long period of time,” he said.

Wolves were today linked with Reading’s £1.5m-rated striker Simon Church.

The 22-year-old Wales international, who has scored four goals in 24 games this season, has been watched by Molineux scouts.

Wolves want another striker with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake out for three weeks with a hamstring injury and Marcus Bent back at Birmingham. Six-foot Church has scored 14 in 59 league games for Reading, but 28 of those appearances have been from the bench.
