HARLEE Dean's goal-line clearance denied Shrewsbury a shock win over high-flying Brentford.

But Salop were good value for their point from a game they spent large parts of on the front foot.

After Marcelo Trotta posted an early threat for the visitors, Graham Turner's men suggested they could make a breakthrough  during a goalless first 45.

Rob Purdie, Luke Rodgers  and Connor Goldson all had chances for Salop.

Rodgers drove over after the restart when well placed, but then the Bees began to force the issue.

It needed a great save from Chris Weale to keep Trotta's shot from hitting the far corner.

But Taylor looked to have finished a super four-man move before centre-half Dean's intervention.
