Shrewsbury Town 1 Tranmere 1

Shrewsbury Town were denied a second successive single goal home victory by a late Tranmere leveller.

Marvin Morgan had put the hosts on course for victory when he nodded home a Mark Wright free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

Morgan and Terry Gornell were both denied by Owain Fon Williams in the second period while Gornell shot into the side netting from a tight angle.

And Tranmere earned a share of the spoils with two minutes remaining when a cross from substitute Abdulai Bell-Baggie was headed back across goal by Liam Palmer and was fired home by Jean Louis Akpa Akpro from close range.

Shrewsbury came close to a dramatic injury time winner with first Asa Hall and then Michael Hector denied from corners by fine Fon Williams stops, the latter one being tipped onto the bar.

The draw means Shrewsbury have equalled their record for 31 games unbeaten at home in the Football League.

A draw - that seems a fair result from the above report. 4 points is good considering Shrewsbury are in a higher league than last season. Keep this up and it could be a mid-table finish :)

Did anyone else notice the difference between the Tranmere fans and the so called Town fans huddled in the top right hand corner of the stand opposite the Roland Wycherley stand? Whilst the Tranmere fans were content with shouting " Who are yer?" which is acceptable to the crowd including women and young children the Town idiots could only reply with " Who the ******* hell are you?" which is not. That's why I will not be taking my grandson to matches when he is old enough! Time to clamp down on this obscene chanting Roland . It takes just a few of these idiots to spoil the experience of watching a match for everyone else.
