Shrewsbury head into Christmas in high spirits after a narrow but deserved home success over Macclesfield.
Defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff headed home the only goal of the game in the 49th minute when he converted a Matt Richards free-kick.
Town were in control for the much part and Macclesfield goalkeeper Jose Veiga made a handful of fine saves to prevent further damage to the visitors.
The Silkmen had their moments in the closing stages but Town were worthy winners as they extended their unbeaten home record to 19 matches.
