Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner nominated for manager of the month
Tuesday 6th December 2011, 10:59AM GMT.
Shrewsbury Town’s hot form in November has seen boss Graham Turner nominated for the League Two manager of the month award.
Town won all three league games they played in November, including the crushing 7-2 victory at Northampton. They also beat Newport County in the FA Cup.
Having also defeated Rotherham in their first game of December to reach the third round for the first time in eight years, they have now won five consecutive games.
And that record has caught the eye of the awards panel, who have included Turner on a shortlist of four for the award.
He will be up against Cheltenham chief Mark Yates, whose side also won three league games in November to keep Shrewsbury outside the automatic promotion places.
Also in the running is Swindon chief Paolo Di Canio and Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez.
The winner will be announced on Sky Sports News on Friday after 10am.
Meanwhile, Shrewsbury’s FA Cup third round clash at Middlesbrough has been confirmed as taking place on Saturday, January 7 at the Riverside Stadium.
The game will kick off at 3pm but Boro are yet to confirm ticket details.
