Shrewsbury Town notched their first FA Cup victory since 2005 as they saw off Blue Square Premier battlers Newport County.
Terry Gornell grabbed the only goal of the game on 41 minutes, glancing home a near post header after a fine cross from Mark Wright.
Shrewsbury were forced to withstand pockets of Newport pressure after the break during what was a largely scrappy affair, but held firm to end a run of five successive first round exits.
