Luke Rodgers scores, but is overshadowed by David Beckham in MLS play-off

Former Shrewsbury striker Luke Rodgers has made his mark in America’s Major League Soccer play-offs – but has been overshadowed by David Beckham.
Rodgers opened the scoring for New York Red Bulls in the second leg of their Western Conference Play-Off with LA Galaxy last night.
But 36-year-old former England captain Beckham inspired a turnaround, setting up one goal and winning a penalty as Galaxy registered a 2-1 victory on the night, 3-1 on aggregate, to book a place in Sunday’s final against Real Salt Lake.
Galaxy coach Bruce Arena hailed Beckham’s impact on the game, saying: “He helped pick up the team. He was an inspiration.”
Beckham is out of contract with Galaxy in December and is pondering his options.
