Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner in loan hunt
Wednesday 2nd November 2011, 11:14AM GMT.
Shrewsbury Town boss Graham Turner has stepped up his search for loan reinforcements – and has not ruled out a new face before Saturday’s trip to Dagenham.
Turner and his staff are working hard to bolster their squad ahead of an away triple-header, which also includes a televised FA Cup first round clash at Newport County and a trip to Newport.
A groin problem for Nicky Wroe has left Matt Richards and Sean McAllister as the only two recognised senior central midfielders, while injuries to Reuben Hazell and Carl Regan have left Town a little short of defensive options.
And strikers James Collins and Tom Bradshaw are likely to miss the trip to Newport if, as expected, they are called up for the Republic of Ireland and Welsh under 21 squads for the latest batch of international matches next week.
“We still need to strengthen the squad where possible,” admitted Turner.
