Crawley’s Scott Shearer ‘grateful’ to Shrewsbury Town

He will be forever grateful to Shrewsbury Town for putting his career back on track.
But Crawley shot-stopper Scott Shearer will display no sentiment when he stands between his former club and three precious points at the Broadfield Stadium tomorrow.
Shearer’s seven month loan stint from Bristol Rovers coincided with Town’s surge into the play-offs under Gary Peters in 2006-07.
With his parent club providing the opposition in the final, a Wembley outing eluded the Scot.
But Shearer hasn’t forgotten the role Shrewsbury played in setting him on the road to being a Football League regular once again.
“I’ve got a lot of good memories of my time at Shrewsbury,” said the 30-year-old.
