Graham Turner eyes upset in Arsenal adventure

Shrewsbury Town’s Great Emirates Adventure finally arrived today – with boss Graham Turner insisting his on-song side are capable of pulling off a stunning upset against one of the super-powers of European football.
Town will be roared on by a travelling army of 5,000 – in what is expected to be a crowd nudging 50,000 – when they go head-to-head with faltering Arsenal tonight for a place in the last 16 of the Carling Cup.
Shrewsbury have already claimed the scalps of Championship outfit Derby and Premier League newcomers Swansea.
Their reward is a trip to one of the most spectacular settings in English football.
And experienced chief Turner believes there is a chance of his side completing a giant-killing triple crown – and piling the pressure on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after his side’s stuttering start to the season.
“We want to come away with our dignity intact and that means performing well,” said the Town boss.
“If Arsenal are just below their best and we play out of our skin, we have every chance of causing an upset – it’s always possible. It’s a great adventure for the players and the supporters. ”
