Bullish boss Graham Turner today declared Shrewsbury Town will adopt a “no fear” approach as they begin a testing away triple header at Bristol Rovers tonight.

Trips to Port Vale and Arsenal – in a mouth-watering Carling Cup third round tussle – also follow in the next seven days.

But boss Graham Turner insists his side will hit the road in high spirits after a run of four successive victories saw them burst into the top three of League Two.

“At the start of the season, I would have put Bristol Rovers and Port Vale as contenders,” said Turner.

“They are never easy places to go but we have to face it now with a degree of confidence about our play.

“Bristol Rovers have had quite a number of changes – new manager, new personnel and new players – and it does take time to get things sorted out.

“I would expect them to be up and around the promotion race at the end of the season.

“They have some quality players but so too have we.

“We have got players who can score and create chances for us.

“We respect teams in there but there is no reason to fear anybody, particularly when we really play.”

Turner will be forced to change the side which has embarked on the winning streak, with striker Terry Gornell beginning a three-match suspension.

James Collins or Tom Bradshaw will deputise.

“It is unfortunate for Terry because he has contributed a lot,” added the Town boss.

“It gives the opportunity to the likes of James or Tom to come in and prove a point.

“When James went on at the end against Hereford on Saturday, he looked sharp and bright and held the ball up for us and Tom is always likely to score a goal.

“We have four very good strikers and sometimes I have a selection dilemma. But I’m clear what I’m going to do tonight.”

Rovers are set to include two former Shrewsbury players – striker Matt Harrold and goalkeeper Scott Bevan – in their side tonight.
