Shrewsbury v Arsenal tickets selling well
Tuesday 6th September 2011, 2:00PM BST.
About 1,500 tickets have already been sold for Shrewsbury Town’s glamour cup tie with Arsenal, officials said today.
Supporters will be travelling in force to the Emirates Stadium on September 20 as the club takes on the Premier League giants in the third round of the Carling Cup.
Tickets for the game went on sale to fans yesterday at the Greenhous Meadow, while supporters could also buy their seats over the phone or online. Internet sales have been available since last week.
The club has been given an initial allocation of 5,173 tickets for the game, with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
A spokesman for Shrewsbury Town today said: “We have sold about 1,500 and a lot of the sales have been online.”
The club had encouraged people to book their tickets over the internet in a bid to avoid long queues at the ground and on the phone.
Tickets went straight on general sale, with individuals able to purchase a maximum of 10 each.
