Anthony Thomas: Saturday’s second half wrapped up an excellent eight days for the football club – three wins, a giant-killing, two clean sheets and one wonderful cup draw.

To follow the win against Swansea with three points in the league was a real relief, as we really struggled in the matches following the game with Derby earlier in the season.

I thought the wind played a big part in Saturday’s game. Swindon looked impressive in the first half but in hindsight they didn’t cause us too many problems and it was a complete role reversal after the break.

Lionel Ainsworth was once again in the thick of it and it’s no surprise he’s being linked with higher league clubs. He’s been involved in eight of our 12 goals this season – awesome.

But for me the biggest influence on the second half was the centre of midfield who really grabbed the game by the proverbials, with Nicky Wroe playing further forward and Sean McAllister mopping up in front of the back four.

The next few weeks has everything, starting with a local derby against Walsall in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

I don’t care if it’s considered a nothing trophy by many, I’d love us to win there – it’s a travesty that we’ve generally been in a lower division than the Saddlers in recent times.

Then it’s on to Gillingham – and we owe them a pasting. A horrible place to go where we’ve been terrible in recent seasons – time to put that right!

And dare we mention a trip to North London? In a week or two maybe – come on you Blues!
