Shrewsbury Town 2 Swindon Town 1
Saturday 27th August 2011, 4:55PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town capped their perfect day with an impressive League Two victory over Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon.
Hours after sealing a dream Carling Cup third round trip to Arsenal, Town registered an important three points despite falling behind to a 26th minute goal from Matt Ritchie.
Terry Gornell levelled the scores with a close range header on 57 and, 15 minutes later, Marvin Morgan was on hand to nod home a cross from Lionel Ainsworth, who bagged the assists for both goals.
