Shrewsbury Town produced a famous Carling Cup upset to stun Premier League Swansea and reach the third round.

Goals from Marvin Morgan, Mark Wright and Nicky Wroe helped Town to their biggest cup result since they dumped Everton out of the FA Cup in 2003.

And it was all the more impressive as they fell behind in the ninth to an unfortunate own goal from Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.

Ok... you just want to run to the Shrewsbury Town square and put a blue and amber scarf around the neck of the Clive of India statue.

This is a historic result that brings back all the wonderful giant killing feelings back to our proud shropshire home town of Shrewsbury.

There will be many a Premiership manager taking notice of this result tonight.

The Swansea manager thought he'd got his players organised enough to turn us over, instead the turning was done by the great Turner himself.

Well done again our lads everyone of them had a blinder.

come on you Shrews, that makes up for the woes of the Oxford game in trumps.

Excellent work Shrews! That's the way to play football. Looking forward to a good run in the cup and a good run in the league.

C'mon Shrewsbury Town FC!

2 lines of caution

1 shame about the poor attendance, what does it need to get a capacity crowd at the excellent facilities at the vauxhall meadow?

2 beware of club scouts bearing false or generous gifts.

well played shrewsbury town, floreat salopia, amwythig am byth and rowland change that ruddy awful pop art club badge. will you be told
